Today, June 26, the Prosvetitel Award long list of 20 best popular science books was announced. Even though this segment of literature is currently experiencing a crisis, more than 130 books from 62 publishers have been nominated. The whole list of this season can be found here in Russian.
The XVI Prosvetitel Award season started on March 15. For this prize, the Organizing Committee accepted applications for books that were published in Russian and written originally in this language. Additionally, the jury will present the PolitProsvet special award for the second time as part of the Prosvetitel Award — to be given for a book that provides an understanding of the current social and political process.
Today, the jury list was also made public, with Alexander Arkhangelskiy at the helm, a writer, popularizer, and publicist. Finalists will be announced by September 30.
