The Winners of the Prosvetitel and Prosvetitel.Perevod Awards Are Announced

  • The Award Ceremony took place on November 16th in three cities — Berlin, Moscow and Tel Aviv — connected with the broadcast stream to the YouTube channel of the Prize.

     

    The 2023 Prosvetitel Award winners are:
    - in the nomination "Humanities" — the book by Oleg Khlevnyuk „The Corporation of Pretenders. Shadow Economy and Corruption in Stalin's USSR“ („NLO“);
    - in the nomination "Natural and exact sciences" — the book by Ramiz Aliyev „What Happened to the Climate“ (Paulsen).

    The 2023 Prosvetitel.Perevod Award winners are:
    - in the nomination "Humanities" — Anil Seth’s book „Being You: A New Science of Consciousness“ (Alpina Non-Fiction); the award was given to translator Maria Desyatova and editors Olga Ivashkina and Natalia Nartsissova;
    - in the nomination "Natural and exact sciences" — Siddhartha Mukherjee’s book „The Gene: An Intimate History“ („CORPUS“); the award was given to translators Olga Volkova and Ksenia Saifulina.

    The 2023 PolitProsvet Special Award winner is:
    book by Vladislav Aksenov “War of Patriotisms: Propaganda and Public Sentiment in Russia during the Collapse of the Empire” (“NLO“). Also the jury noted Alexander Baunov‘s book with a special mention — „The End of the Regime: How Three European Dictatorships Ended“ („Alpina Publisher“).
